Risk & Compliance Analyst

The role can be based at any of the office locations: Leicester, Salisbury, Bolton or Wimbledon

My client is an award-winning Company, and they have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Risk and Compliance Analyst to join their team within the Pensions division.

You will proactively support the Director of Group Risk in implementing risk management and compliance strategies, conducting assessments, and promoting a culture of risk awareness and compliance across the organisation.

Key Accountabilities:

Risk Management:

  • Support the risk control and assessment processes by collecting and organising data, performing risk assessments, root cause analysis, and helping to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities all across the various business units.
  • Maintain and update the risk register
  • Collaborate with the team to develop strategies and tactics for mitigating identified risks and enhancing the firm's overall risk management framework.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the risk and compliance framework and policies, and recommend improvements as needed.

Compliance:

  • Assist in the preparation, review and maintenance of company policies, compliance documentation and manuals, reports, and records.
  • Horizon monitoring - keep abreast of changes in relevant regulations, industry standards and best practices.

Training and Education:

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of compliance and risk training programs
  • Oversee the implementation and effectiveness of the Group’s standard annual training programme.

Operational Support:

  • Establish effective internal relationships to ensure all regulatory requirements are fully understood and applied in a coordinated and commercially sensitive manner.
  • Promote a culture of risk awareness and compliance across the firm.

Data Management:

  • Manage and maintain information and data related to risk, governance, and compliance, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and security.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Analytical problem solving.
  • Excellent organisation.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good level of competence with all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently/self-supervised and as part of a small team

DESIRABLE / ADVANTAGEOUS EXPERIENCE

  • Familiarity with GDPR, AML, TPR, FCA, HMRC, CIOT and SRA requirements.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a risk and compliance capacity including some form of monitoring, checking or quality assurance, preferably in the financial services sector.
  • Worked within a SSAS or SIPP environment for at least 2 years.
  • Relevant professional qualifications such as ICA, IRM, or CISI
