Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant, with a desire to work with special educational needs (SEN), want a flexible role, to work on a supply basis in a variety of SEN schools in and around Salisbury? Then this could be the perfect role for you!
I am working with a number of SEN schools who are seeking to appoint support staff who can be flexible to help support staff absences. However, if you demonstrate to be an excellent addition to the team, there may be an opportunity to progress into part time or full time work within the school.
To be successful with your application a previous experience working in a SEN environment, whether this be with primary or secondary, alternatively if you have mainstream experience but a very strong knowledge of SEN, we would love to hear from you! You may be expected to work with needs including, a range of Learning Difficulties, Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and to be confident to work with challenging behaviour. Relevant qualifications are also desirable, for example NVQ or Level 3, due to the nature of the school it is essential you can demonstrate excellent knowledge of the needs of children.
Your daily duties would include offering classroom support to students, coaxing them to stay focused and learn and develop. This will also involve supervision outside of the classroom, perhaps of break time duty or extracurricular activities
I am looking for an enthusiastic and friendly individual, that is mature and mouldable to work with the needs of the school. You must have a passion for working with children in particular those with SEN and are hoping for a long term career in teaching.
