Your new companyWe are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-known organisation that specialises in providing secure accommodation for vulnerable individuals. This includes those facing homelessness, fleeing domestic abuse, adults with learning difficulties, and individuals transitioning out of prison.

Your new roleAs a Temporary Supported Housing Worker, you will develop trusting relationships with clients, delivering person-centred housing support to help them sustain their accommodation and work towards positive outcomes. You will ensure clients understand their rights and responsibilities, engage with relevant professionals, and manage their housing-related needs. The role will primarily cover Salisbury, with occasional travel between four properties within the area. Mileage between properties is paid 0.45p per mile.

Key Duties Include:

  • Managing a caseload of up to 10 clients, empowering them to recognise their strengths, set goals, and build confidence.
  • Completing thorough sign-ups and ensuring clients have valid Housing Benefit claims.
  • Coordinating with professionals such as mental health teams, social workers, and health providers to ensure comprehensive client support.
  • Monitoring the health, well-being, safety, and security of both the service and the clients.
  • Carrying out administrative tasks promptly and maintaining a high standard using the case management system.
  • Collecting rents and service charges, managing arrears in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Building positive and effective relationships with external agencies.
  • Managing client referral and assessment processes.
  • Developing and implementing client support plans and risk assessments.
  • Offering advice, information, and facilitating access to appropriate resources for clients.
  • Ensuring clients are fully aware of their rights and responsibilities in relation to their licence agreements.
  • Providing effective housing management services for clients and designated properties.
  • Coordinating and delivering meaningful opportunities for clients to develop confidence and skills.
  • Keeping accurate and up-to-date client records.
  • Ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the service, including liaising with external contractors for health and safety.

Current Pay Rate:£15.39 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay).Working Hours:Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00 (may vary occasionally to 08:00 - 16:00).Contract Length:Initial 6-week period, with the possibility for an extension into an ongoing temporary role or permanent position.What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience working with individuals who have experienced homelessness or rough sleeping, either through paid or voluntary roles, and/or personal lived experience of homelessness.
  • Ability to engage with individuals who may exhibit challenging behaviour and manage potentially difficult situations with patience and professionalism.
  • A solution-focused mindset with the ability to work collaboratively and creatively to solve problems.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding issues and the ability to handle them appropriately.
  • Willingness to participate in supervision, reflective practice, and self-care initiatives.
  • Enhanced DBS check.
  • A valid driving licence with access to a vehicle and business insurance for expense claims.
