We are looking for a talented Communications Officer to join our clients dynamic Communications Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about creative and impactful communications in a public sector environment. You will plan, deliver, and advise on communications campaigns that support and promote the priorities of the Council.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement cost-effective, creative communications plans and products, using both digital and traditional media, that promote the Council's priorities and business objectives.
  • Commission creative communications products from internal and external providers (e.g., media relations officers, design teams, external agencies), ensuring high-quality delivery within budget.
  • Set, monitor, and evaluate SMART communications objectives, assessing both output and outcomes to ensure campaign success.

Person Specification:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification/experience in a communications discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years' professional experience in a marketing or public relations (PR) communications role.
  • Awareness of local government issues and the public sector environment.
  • Excellent copywriting and communication skills for diverse audiences and media channels (e.g., press releases, web content, social media).
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.
