Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the initiation and development of new product ranges, as well as product refreshes, from concept through to manufacturing.
- Develop detailed product specifications, including hardware designs, prototypes, and embedded software.
- Coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers, ensuring precise briefings and timely delivery of products.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers while identifying new suppliers for specific project needs.
- Conduct product feasibility studies and provide calculations for capital projects, ensuring all designs meet project goals and budget constraints.
Design and Development Requirements:
- Strong experience with various manufacturing techniques, with a deep understanding of design for manufacturing (DFM) concepts.
- Solid knowledge of Mechanical Engineering principles and practices.
- Experience in plastic injection moulding and PCB (Printed Circuit Board) design.
- Proficiency in hardware design, particularly in products featuring embedded electronics.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Excellent time management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Enthusiastic, motivated, and eager to drive innovation within the product development process.
- A proactive problem-solver with strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
