We are seeking a dedicated and Multi Skilled Maintenace Engineer with Electrical Bias to join our clients established Manufacturing Maintenance team.

The role involves supporting various departments through both reactive and preventative maintenance tasks, ensuring minimal disruption to production targets. This position requires a sound understanding of engineering fundamentals, both electrical and mechanical, and offers the support of the Maintenance Supervisor and the Senior Electrical Engineer.

Day to Day of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer role:

  • Assist the Engineering team with the goal of achieving zero breakdowns.
  • Perform planned maintenance tasks autonomously to maximise machinery uptime.
  • Provide proactive support for reactive maintenance tasks, minimising manufacturing downtime.
  • Work on electrical installations up to 440V, process safety circuits, and control circuits, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Conduct fault diagnosis using mechanical and electrical root cause analysis to identify problems and implement solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer:

  • NVQ level 3 or higher in Engineering, with a minimum of five years’ experience in Electrical and Mechanical maintenance.
  • Completed Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in applying Engineering knowledge and skills for root cause analysis.
  • Experience with AC and DC motors.
  • Fundamental knowledge of Variable Speed Drives.

Desirable:

  • 18th Edition IEE wiring regulations certification.
  • Experience in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
  • Basic welding techniques.
