Hygiene Manager

Hours of work: Night shift - midnight to 8am (4 on /4 off)

Pay: DOE

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hygiene Manager to join a vibrant team at a food production facility. The Hygiene Manager will be responsible for maintaining the highest hygiene standards across all areas of the factory, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high care food manufacturing environments and possess the necessary qualifications and certifications to excel in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain hygiene standards in all areas of the factory
  • Plan and implement deep cleaning and overhead cleaning schedules in coordination with Engineering and Production requirements
  • Manage the Hygiene Team, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and providing necessary training
  • Investigate and take corrective actions for any out-of-specification environmental micro results
  • Ensure achievement of KPI targets related to hygiene standards
  • Maintain cleaning standards, records, and procedures in compliance with BRC and other relevant audit standards
  • Conduct compliance audits and inspections of internal hygiene standards and documentation
  • Develop work instructions and hygiene procedures
  • Control COSHH management and provide associated training across all functions
  • Ensure all hygiene staff are trained and competent in relevant procedures
  • Maintain material safety data sheets for all chemicals used on site and ensure accessibility to all staff

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience in a high care food manufacturing environment
  • HACCP Level 3 certification
  • COSHH Level 3 certification
  • Ideally Food Safety Level 3 qualified
  • NEBOSH Health & Safety Certificate (desirable)
  • NEBOSH Environmental (desirable)
  • Hygiene Manager's Level 4 certification
  • Knowledge of Listeria, Micro, and chemical control awareness
  • Understanding of BRCGS or large retailer audits preferred
