Design Engineer
Location: Sandy
Salary: Up to £50,000 DOE
Hours: 8:30am - 5pm, Mon – Fri
Our client, a leading manufacturer of high-quality equipment, is seeking a talented and motivated Design Engineer to join their dynamic design team. Based in Sandy, this role offers the opportunity to work on a comprehensive range of bespoke equipment, contributing to innovative and cutting-edge designs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the design team to develop and enhance a wide variety of equipment.
- Utilise Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD with proficiency to create precise and functional designs.
- Leverage your engineering expertise to meet project deadlines, whether working independently or as part of a team.
- Liaise directly with suppliers to negotiate prices and delivery schedules.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in the use of Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
- Strong engineering background with practical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage deadlines effectively, both independently and collaboratively.
- Hands-on shop floor experience, such as machining, welding, and fabrication.
- Time-served apprenticeship in a relevant field.
- Experience in designing food machinery and systems.
- Working knowledge of:
- Steam systems and energy calculations.
- Fluid systems, pumps, and pipework.
- Pneumatics and stress calculations.
- Sizing motors and gearboxes for applications.
- Sheet metal development and tolerances of machined parts.
