About Us: We are a reputable accountancy practice based in Harlow, Essex, providing a wide range of accounting and financial services to their diverse client base. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Accounts Assistant to join their team.

Role Overview: As an Accounts Assistant within our practice, you will support the accountants with daily accounting tasks. This role is ideal for someone who is looking to gain more experience in an accountancy practice environment and is keen to develop their skills further.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Process invoices, payments, and receipts.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Support the preparation of VAT returns and other compliance matters.
  • Assist with payroll processing and related activities.
  • Provide administrative support to the accounting team.
  • Liaise with clients to resolve queries and provide information as required.

Requirements:

  • AAT qualified or part-qualified, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in an accountancy practice is preferred.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with accounting software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
