Multi Skilled Mill Operative – Night Shift
Working Hours 40 Basic hours per week - Overtime At Enhanced Rate
About us:
WL Duffield & Sons Ltd is a family-owned animal feed manufacturing business with 3 sites operating throughout the UK.
The Role:
We are looking for a candidate to work within the busy feed mill at our Saxlingham site, working predominately in the mill producing animal feed.
This role is a full-time permanent night shift role role, shifts/times to be agreed, working -Â Monday to Friday with additional overtime at an enhanced rate of pay.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Operate all machinery to achieve optimal output and optimal quality, solve ad-hoc mill faults
- Carry out all in-process quality checks in accordance with the appropriate schedules and report problems as they occur
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and hygiene within your working area
- To work with our clean as you go policy
- Take random samples of finished products from loads and assess their quality
- To batch control runs of feed by manually weighing up hand additive ingredients as required
- Provide cover for other team members when requested
- Abide by Health & Safety Rules
- Perform any other tasks as may be delegated from time to time by Mill Manager
The Candidate:
- Ability to multitask and prioritise workload is essential
- Ability to manually handle bagged/tubbed ingredients (maximum individual bag size 25kgs)
- Good written communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload
- Previous experience within a similar role/s, a holder of a forklift certificate and knowledge of agriculture/farming would be an advantage.
Full training & PPE will be provided.
