A leading and rapidly growing transport company based in North Yorkshire is seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager. This key role is critical to ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, driving business growth, and leading the team toward achieving both operational and financial targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations across the transport and logistics divisions, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity.
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team, fostering a high-performance culture with strong communication and collaboration.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth and operational improvements.
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety, legal, and industry regulations, including holding a minimum National CPC.
- Manage the budget and oversee financial performance, including cost control, revenue optimisation, and profitability analysis.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies across the business.
- Handle performance management, setting clear targets and KPIs for teams and individuals.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure business goals and objectives are met.
- Drive customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality services and ensuring client expectations are exceeded.
Qualifications:
- CPC (National minimum)
- Proven leadership, strategic planning, and decision-making abilities in a senior role.
- Strong experience in operations management and staff supervision within the transport or logistics industry.
- Financial management and budgeting expertise with strong numeracy and analytical skills.
- Thorough knowledge of transportation and logistics operations, including 3PL services.
