We are working exclusively with a business in Scarborough who are looking for a new Finance Manager who will work closely with the other department managers on a daily basis with the budgets, sales and revenue streams, looking for systems and process improvements, along with cost saving ideas.

What the Finance Manager job involves

  • Managing the accounts department and a small team.
  • Preparing financial reports and financial statements.
  • Monitor financial performance against budget, forecasts.
  • Analyse financial data to provide recommendations to the managing director for strategic decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities for system enhancements or upgrades to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Track budget performance throughout the year, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
  • Analyse cost structures and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Optimise procurement processes and vendor relationships.
  • Develop financial models and scenarios to support strategic decision-making and investment analysis.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.

Skills required

  • Someone who is Qualified with ACA, ACCA, CIMA or Part Qualified or Qualified by experience.
  • Experience of using Sage 50 or similar accounting software with a good level of excel knowledge.
  • Someone who is driven and passionate about accounts.
  • Solutions focused with a commercial background.

  • Full time Monday to Friday.
