Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled Estimating and Design Technician to join our growing team. This is a permanent, office, and site-based position located in Scarborough. The role offers a competitive salary based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate design matters between project stakeholders, attend design meetings, and ensure compliance with building regulations.
  • Prioritize workloads in line with project programs and deadlines.
  • Price Design and Build tenders from first principles by measurement and application of unit rates.
  • Provide technical documentation to support tenders, quotations, and design-related queries.
  • Liaise regularly with project management teams.
  • Ensure that drawings are completed to the highest standards.
  • Design and draw layouts, foundation plans, and elevations for modular projects.
  • Assist with ongoing projects, including basic design changes and revisions.
  • Attend site visits and assist the Senior Design Manager.
  • Coordinate project activities with clients, contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Undertake full planning and building regulations submissions.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD detailing.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Technically strong with a good understanding of the construction industry, particularly modular buildings.
  • Experience in modular buildings or as a main contractor is highly advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with excellent negotiation and relationship-building abilities.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects.
  • Ideally holds a HNC or higher in Design, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
  • UK driving license is essential.
