Your new company

Hays Healthcare are actively recruiting Band 6 Mental Health Practitioners (RMN, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Care Co-ordinator (RMN)) to work in our clients CAMHS service based in Scarborough. The hours are Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm on site and £25 per hour (via PAYE or umbrella).

Your responsibilities

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of people's mental health needs and risks, using a person-centred and recovery-focused approach
  • Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with service users, carers and other professionals, using evidence-based interventions
  • Providing short-term intensive home treatment as an alternative to hospital admission, or facilitating admission when necessary
  • Providing advice, support and education to service users, carers and other professionals on how to manage mental health crises
  • Contributing to the supervision, training and development of junior staff and students

What you'll need to succeed

  • A professional qualification in mental health nursing, occupational therapy or social work, and current registration with the relevant regulatory body (NMC, HCPC or Social Work England)
  • Experience in working with people with acute mental health problems in a community or hospital setting
  • A good knowledge of the Mental Health Act, the Care Programme Approach and other relevant legislation and policies
  • A high level of clinical skills and competence in assessment, risk management, crisis intervention and care planning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and learning
