We are seeking an experienced Site/Facilities Manager to ensure statutory compliance and collaborate with the Business Manager on projects to create a safe and progressive learning environment.Your new roleWill consist of;

  • Supervise the site and cleaning team, ensuring effective communication and task distribution.
  • Regularly inspect the site for Health and Safety issues, completing risk assessments and corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain an operational schedule of work, prioritising tasks appropriately.
  • Keep accurate records of all work, including fire and water safety checks, and liaise with the Business Manager or Principal on work priorities. Manage academy minibus procedures and ensure all checks are completed.
  • Monitor energy and water consumption for efficiency.
  • Ensure contractors are inducted onto health and safety procedures, relevant risk assessments, and provided with the Asbestos register.
  • Oversee the safe moving of school furniture according to Health and Safety and Lifting and Handling regulations.
  • Manage site-related emergencies or closures, ensuring minimal disruption.
  • Open and close academy premises for various purposes, including lettings and maintenance.
  • Check alarms, fire equipment, and emergency procedures.
  • Oversee building maintenance and recommend solutions to the Business Manager.
  • Manage minor repairs and coordinate with external contractors for major issues.
  • Ensure lettings are conducted as per agreements.
  • Regularly check and control system functions, including heating, and report defects to qualified engineers.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths, or equivalent.
  • Experience in a premises site management role, including line management experience.
  • In depth knowledge of building and maintenance management.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of audiences, verbally and in writing, with the ability to gain credibility at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to create, manage and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, external agencies and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage competing deadlines.
  • Highly developed planning and organisational skills and the ability to delegate appropriately.
  • Ability to use standard ICT packages including Microsoft Office.
  • Satisfactory DBS check.
