Simply Education is currently working with an SEMH school in Scunthorpe to recruit a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join their team, supporting students in a dynamic and nurturing environment. This will be a full time position and starting as soon as possible.

As a teaching assistant in an SEMH provision, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with classroom activities and educational programs.
  • Providing one-on-one support to students to help them achieve their learning goals.
  • Managing and supporting challenging behaviour in a calm and effective manner.
  • Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create a positive learning environment.

  • Previous experience working in SEMH, SEN, or a similar educational setting.
  • A high level of resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting and inspiring young people.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in an educational or care setting.
  • Strong understanding of SEMH and related behavioural strategies.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
