Property Paralegal

Salary: up to £27,000

Hours: Full-time - 35 hours per week. (with hybrid option) or working or part-time (office based)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Property Paralegal to join our clients supportive and great team.

You will work closely and support one of their senior Property Solicitors by assisting with both commercial and residential property transactions, including sales, purchases, re-mortgages, and transfers of equity.

You will ideally have gained a minimum of 2 year's experience as a property paralegal. You may also be a law graduate with gained valuable experience.

Key responsibilities:

You will be working closely with the senior property solicitor with both commercial and residential property transactions.

Duties will include:

  • The preparation and submission of legal documents.
  • Conduct property searches (local authority, environmental, and others), ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Draft and prepare contracts, transfer deeds, and other property-related documentation.
  • Liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other third parties to ensure smooth progress of transactions.
  • Review and process property-related paperwork, such as title deeds and contracts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Assisting with the preparation of completion statements and final accounts.
  • Assist in the exchange and completion of contracts and ensure that relevant deadlines are met.
  • Keep clients informed about the progress of their matters and answer any questions they may have.
  • Ensure that all relevant deadlines are adhered to, including key dates in the transaction process.
  • Maintain accurate case files and records on the firm's case management system.
  • Ensure that all transactions are compliant with current laws, regulations, and internal processes.

Key skills & qualifications:

  • Previous experience working as a property paralegal or legal assistant, within a property department
  • An understanding of commercial and residential conveyancing processes and property law.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Familiarity with case management systems and legal software.
  • A proactive attitude and a willingness to take on new challenges.
