This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a company that is focused on innovation, growth, and continual improvement.Job Purpose:As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be integral in optimising and refining manufacturing processes using Lean methodologies. Your role will involve working closely with the production team, developing standardised work instructions, and driving increased efficiency and productivity across the operation.Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and implement manufacturing processes and procedures that follow Lean manufacturing principles to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure products are manufactured on time and to the highest quality standards.
  • Provide detailed work instructions and training for production staff to ensure uniformity and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Identify and spearhead opportunities for process improvements, actively participating in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing challenges and lead root cause analysis projects.
  • Perform time and motion studies to streamline workflows and reduce operational waste.
  • Design and implement tools, jigs, and fixtures to improve production capabilities and efficiency.
  • Take an active role in cost-saving initiatives, ensuring optimal use of materials and resources.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all manufacturing processes, improvements, and changes.
  • Stay up to date with industry standards, best practices, and the latest Lean manufacturing trends.
  • Ensure adequate manufacturing capacity is available to meet the company's sales targets.
  • Support internal and external quality improvement efforts.
Person Specification:Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Must have experience working as a Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer or CI Engineer
  • Strong background in manufacturing engineering and process optimisation.
  • Must have experience delivering Improvement projects
  • Expertise in Lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Must have a hands on approach and be happy working on the shop floor alongside Manufacturing and Production
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a fast-paced, high-demand manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in software and tools relevant to process improvement and documentation.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
Desirable:
  • Experience in designing and implementing production tools, jigs, and fixtures.
