An opportunity has arisen for a qualified teacher to join a lovely school on the outskirts of Scunthorpe to work in a mixed Year 1/2 class on a full-time basis starting in April 2025 until July 2025 to cover the first part of a maternity cover. The school is only small with 4 classes and so someone willing to partake in full planning, marking and assessment responsibilities is essential. 

You will be entitled to PPA time and you will also have a part-time TA in your class which you will be expected to deploy effectively within lessons.

You can expect to earn a daily rate of between £130 and £160 for this role initially and then you will be paid to scale after week 12. 

Responsibilities:

-Planning lessons in English, Maths and foundation subjects based around the National Curriculum for KS1

-Delivering lessons to a class of children using a range of stimulating and engaging techniques

-Marking work throughout the lesson and giving children feedback to check dependent on the school’s marking policy

-Summative assessment as necessary

-Attending staff meetings, training days and additional CPD

-Differentiating lessons, bridging gaps and challenging high attainers, adapting as necessary

-Deploying any support staff effectively within the class

-Strong behaviour and classroom management skills

Requirements:

-Experience of working as a KS1 teacher

-QTS or PGCE equivalent (essential)

-Applications from both ECT’s and experienced teachers are welcomed

-Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills

-DBS certificate
