An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Shift Manager to join a manufacturing company in Scunthorpe. This role supports the Production Manager in overseeing the full manufacturing process, while driving team performance and meeting targets.

Key responsibilities include ensuring health and safety, managing admin tasks (return-to-work interviews, holiday planning, training documents, C forms), and fostering continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular 1:1 meetings with team members to discuss performance and well-being.
  • Attend all required training and periodic 1:1 sessions with your Line Manager, including annual PDRs.
  • Provide coverage for colleagues during absences and adapt flexibly to assist in various operational areas as required.
  • Take on additional responsibilities and cover for the Production Manager as needed.
  • Ensure all reports are completed professionally and submitted within the required timeframes.
  • Coordinate planned preventative maintenance (PPM) with Engineering and the Line Manager.
  • Manage effective communication within the team, including training, briefs, and holiday requests.
  • Resolve conflicts, conduct recorded discussions, return-to-work interviews, and disciplinary sessions as needed.
  • Monitor KPIs, address poor performance swiftly, and adapt manning to accommodate production programs.
  • Ensure all process checks and housekeeping walkarounds are completed and respond to emails promptly.

Qualifications
