We are seeking an English Teacher to join a vibrant and dedicated team in a secondary school located in Scunthorpe. Day-to-day of the role:- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging English lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring alignment with the national curriculum.
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
- Foster a positive learning environment in the classroom that promotes enthusiasm for learning and encourages pupils' academic growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop new curriculum materials and teaching strategies that reflect the school's values.
- Participate in departmental meetings, parent evenings, and whole school training events.
- Manage pupil behaviour in the classroom and on school premises, applying appropriate and effective measures in cases of misbehaviour.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience teaching English at secondary school level.
- Strong understanding of the strategies needed to establish high standards of behaviour management and classroom control.
- Ability to plan and deliver lessons that both challenge and engage students.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
