Job Overview
To work as part of a team to offer complex support for people who have been affected by or at risk of homelessness to enable them to live independently and maintain their homes.
To enable customers to develop the skills necessary to successfully manage their home and lifestyle in moving towards a sustainable independent life in the community.
Main Responsibilities
1. To provide housing related support to customers including the preparation, monitoring and reviewing of support plans as appropriate. Ensuring that customers are fully involved, engaged, focused and outcome driven and that all activities are fully compliant with robust risk assessments.
2. Assist Homeless Services Property Co-Ordinator in setting up new project properties.
3. To offer advice and support to service users on all housing issues including universal credit and other benefits/grants, accommodation options, home management, debt
4.advice and lifestyle skills whilst encouraging independence.
5. To support tenants to maximise their income by completing an Income & Expenditure assessment, budgeting and providing tips on reducing outgoings (gas/electricity) and assisting with applications for charitable grants to alleviate poverty.
6. To facilitate and promote life skills work, education, training, volunteering and employment opportunities with service users.
7. To assist the Homeless Services Support Co-Ordinator in collating performance management information in line with Company service standards, key performance indicators and customer satisfaction and prepare reports that identify key issues and actions needed to tackle them.
8 Regular contact with financial organisations and benefits agencies to ensure that clients are in receipt of the correct benefits and that these benefits are being made in a timely manner.
Liaison with Managers and other service areas.
For this post you will need the Ability to work flexibly and occasionally outside normal working hours, Ability to balance the demands of supporting individual tenants with meeting the business aims.
Post holder must be able to carry out visits and transport themselves to various locations, this may include the need to travel in hazardous weather conditions and take the appropriate safety precautions
Must be able to visit a range of properties including accessing flats and climbing stairs

Knowledge, Skill & Experience Required
Experience of working with vulnerable people in a positive way to deliver tenancy support and advice.
Post holder to be aware of safeguarding vulnerable adults, children and report any concerns via Ongo safeguarding policies and to the relevant local authority.
