Complex Needs Support Worker
Location: Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire

Salary: £88.94 - £105.00 per day

Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! GSL Education are seeking Complex Needs Support Workers to work with children and young people with special educational needs.Â
Complex Needs Support Worker Responsibilities:
- Supporting children and young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties, and complex medical needs.
- Collaborating with family members, medical professionals and school leaders to develop and implement a student-centred service plan to meet their social, emotional and developmental needs.
- Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to implement individualised education and care plans.
- Working with the class teachers to develop sensory, speech, language, and communication needs.
- Managing behaviours within the classroom and being aware of triggers, using de-escalation techniques.Â
- Use specialist equipment and techniques to support students' learning and development.
Complex Needs Support Worker Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications in health and social care or a related field (e.g., Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care).
- Experience working with children or young adults with complex needs in an educational or care setting.
- Be a strong and engaging communicator.
- Be compassionate, caring, and have a genuine desire to help young people overcome their barriers.
- Hold a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
