Responsibilities of a Forest School Leader include:

  • Possess experience as a Forest School Lead, including guiding school groups through activities in the forest area, regardless of weather conditions. Take responsibility for supervising the group and any accompanying adults.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations within the school environment.
  • Be familiar with policies related to Safeguarding, Child Protection, and behaviour management.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the Forest School Ethos and be capable of integrating this approach into all aspects of practice.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of the importance of risk assessments in Forest School, and ensure that all records are maintained and kept up to date.

Requirements of a Forest School Leader include:

  • Hold a Forest School Leader's level 3 certificate.
  • Hold a current Forest Schools approved first aid certificate.
