Reed Education Sussex is looking for a SEMH teaching assistant to work at a unique and inspiring school in Seaford. The school is part of a multi-academy trust that provides specialist education for children and young people aged 4-16 with a range of needs, including SEMH, autism, ADHD and dyslexia. The school has a strong ethos of respect, inclusion and achievement.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with the teachers and students in the classroom, as well as in small groups or one-to-one sessions. You will assist with the planning, preparation and delivery of lessons, as well as with the assessment and feedback of students’ work. You will also support the pastoral care and behaviour management of the students.

To be eligible for this role, you will need to have:

  • Previous experience working in schools or with young people
  • At least a NVQ Level 2 or relevant experience in education or childcare
  • The ability to converse easily and maintain good interpersonal skills
  • The skills to deescalate challenging behaviour and promote positive outcomes

The working hours are 08:30-16:00, Monday to Friday, with a day pay rate of £85-£90.
