Baltic Recruitment are delighted to be supporting IPS Flow Systems, a leading supplier of pipes, valves, and fittings across the UK and Ireland with their search for an experienced Sales Manager.
Overall Purpose:
- The Sales Manager is responsible for leading and guiding the sales team to achieve sales targets, develop new business, maintain customer relationships, and enhance the overall customer experience.
- This role involves strategic planning, managing people, selling, leveraging technology, and improving processes.
- The Sales Manager is also responsible for training, coaching, and monitoring the performance of the sales team.
- The role will also form part of the Senior Leadership Team to take the business forward and be a strategic part of structuring the business for growth.
Key Duties:
Senior Leadership Team:
- Serve on the Senior Leadership Team to grow the business and provide strategic input for all aspects of the business.
- Carry out reviews on process, procedure, documents to influence how the business operates to optimize growth, communication, customer engagement.
- Manage and inform teams on new directives from the board and the company directors.
- Support the directors in all aspects of the business strategy
Sales Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve company objectives.
- Analyse market trends, competitors, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth.
- Assist in the preparation of sales forecasts and budgets.
Team Management:
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing sales team.
- Set clear objectives and KPIs for team members.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment.
Sales Execution:
- Lead and manage the sales team to achieve sales targets.
- Maintain and grow relationships with key accounts.
- Ensure timely and effective customer communications.
- Handle escalations and resolve customer issues efficiently.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Track sales performance metrics and report on team achievements.
- Use CRM software to manage customer relationships and sales processes.
- Analyse sales data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Assist in monthly reporting to the board of directors including presentations at board meetings.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships.
- Understand customer needs and provide appropriate solutions.
- Conduct regular business reviews with key customers.
Market and Product Knowledge:
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitors.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company products and services.
- Provide feedback to the product development team on customer needs and market gaps.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement improvements in the sales process.
- Leverage technology to enhance sales productivity and customer engagement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Requirements:
- Experience in a senior management role and strategic planning.
- Proven track record and experience working in a similar role.
- Strong ability to communicate, inspire and motivate the team to achieve and exceed targets.
- Proven ability to drive the sales and marketing process from plan to close and leading the sales department to achieve their goals.
- Experience of managing data through a CRM system.
- Excellent people skills in mentoring, coaching.
- Clean driving license and willing to travel to customer sites and other company site.
