Our client is a popular food manufacturer who is known across the world. They currently seek an IT Apprentice to work as Helpdesk Support in their Seaham location.
The Apprentice will work onsite for 37.5 hours per week (Mon-Fri, 8:30am-5pm). The apprenticeship will last for 18 months and successful completion of the qualification could lead to a permanent role within the company.
Duties will include:
Support the Head of Information Systems with all activities related with Administration, control, planning and Implementation of technology infrastructure required to support all business processes of the organisation in Europe.
Prepare company systems plans which define the department's objectives, and handle all IT projects related to infrastructure to support business needs and maintain and improve IT services.
Provide 1st line technical support for hardware or software problems. Answer queries via phone, email, online tickets (MIS Help Desk application), maintaining a high degree of customer service for all support queries and adhere to all service management principles, take ownership of user problems and be proactive when dealing with user issues. Log all calls and issues on the logging systems. Escalate issues where necessary.
Support users in the use of Computer equipment by providing necessary training and advice.
To arrange for external technical support where problems cannot be resolved in house and maintain relationships with outside service providers for second line support
Liaise with MIS department in USA to ensure maintenance of service.
Required knowledge, skills or experience:
This role combines a high level of technical skills with a clear commitment to Customer Satisfaction. The person in this role is responsible for the day-to-day support of internal customers by telephone, email and online tickets.
