Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading energy provider to recruit a Mechanical Technician to work at a CHP plant in Seascale, Cumbria.

Responsibilities and Duties
Reporting to the Site Mechanical Engineer, you will:

  • Perform planned and reactive mechanical maintenance to ensure efficient plant operations.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues, providing detailed records in the site's CMMS (Maximo).
  • Develop and refine maintenance procedures and technical documentation.
  • Supervise contractors, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Ensure alignment with industry regulations such as PSSR, DSEAR, HASAWA, and LOLER.
  • Provide technical support and out-of-hours assistance when required.


Professional Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:

  • A mechanical apprenticeship or an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a mechanical discipline.
  • Proven experience in maintaining rotating equipment and steam systems.
  • Familiarity with CMMS for reporting and work tracking.
  • IOSH certification and awareness of relevant legislation would be helpful.
