Astute's Power team is partnering witha Combined Heat and Power facility in Cumbria. Comprised of three GE Frame 6B Gas Turbines and a single 68MW Steam Turbine, the plant provides power to the National Grid as well as steam to the nuclear facilities of Sellafield to recruit an EC&I Technician for its Fellside site.

Responsibilities and duties
Working closely with the Site Maintenance Engineer, will be responsible for:
  • Fault finding, installing and maintaining, instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow and level) and control systems.
  • Calibrations and loop checking of instruments relating to the sites DCS/control systems.
  • Maintaining the continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS)
  • Assist in the development of plant modification and improvement work.
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records using the site CMMS
  • Supervising and directing on site contractors when required
  • Ensuring strict HSE compliance at all times.





Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • A recognised EC&I engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3 / HNC or equivalent
  • Knowledge and understanding of maintenance on controls and instrumentation equipment
  • At least 4 years of experience working in the maintenance team in a heavy process environment such as a power station, refinery, chemical plant etc.
