Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to be engaged on a permanent basis. Candidates will ideally be based in the Cumbria and hybrid working will be supported.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all quantity surveying activities.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for projects.
  • Conduct cost analysis and risk management.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and project teams to ensure accurate cost control.
  • Prepare and review tender documentation and contracts.
  • Monitor and report on project financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Provide support and guidance to junior quantity surveyors and other team members.
  • Collaborate with the project management team to align financial objectives with project goals.


Qualifications/requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
  • Excellent communication
  • Contract Management (NEC essential)
  • Reporting
  • Collaborative approach and best-for-project attitude
  • Identifying and driving efficiencies and improvements through the project life cycle
  • Ideally Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant subject
  • Ideally hold or be working towards an appropriate professional body membership or equivalent
