Mechanical Plant & Equipment Manager – CUMBRIA – TEMPORARY 1 YEAR+

VGC Group Limited are looking to recruit a Mechanical Plant & Equipment Manager on a temporary 1-year+ contract for an international infrastructure group delivering the UK’s power generation solutions based in Cumbria.

You will play a key part of the team working on one of the most important construction projects on site looking to safely design and deliver requirements in line with the needs of the Client.

Rewards

  • £41.07ph PAYE – (also inside IR35 an option)
  • 42-hours per week

Accountabilities

Responsible for ensuring the efficient and consistent management of mechanical support during the commissioning and handover, in compliance with the joint venture design and on site procedures.

  • Advocating and supporting site HSEQS (Health, Safety, Environment, Quality, and Security) initiatives.
  • Managing Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) responsibilities in alignment with the RACI Matrix
  • Oversee daily mechanical discipline activities, focusing on productivity, quality, and delivery.
  • Review and manage the risk register.
  • Coordinate and monitor project scope.
  • Organize and maintain site documentation files.
  • Manage the creation and submission of "As-Built" records.
  • Obtain design information from the Delivery Team and subcontractors.
  • Evaluate material samples to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Review and approve subcontractor and supplier documentation as required.
  • Ensure adherence to project procedures and work instructions.
  • Manage resources to align with the programme schedule and cost plan.
  • Attend meetings as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Delivery Teams and Construction Management.
  • Address and support Human Resources (HR) and Industrial Relations (IR) issues.

Requirements

  • Experienced in senior construction management roles, working as part of a joint venture integrated team on large-scale projects covering all disciplines.
  • Experience of working on a Nuclear licensed site would be preferred.
  • Computer literate
  • Must be eligible to obtain Security Clearance and any other client security requirements
  • Microsoft suite proficient
