Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our Year 6 class starting in January 2025. The successful candidate will work closely with a child on an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) who is currently learning at a Year 3 curriculum level.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support to the child, ensuring their specific learning needs are met.
Assist in the planning and delivery of personalised learning activities.
Work closely with the classroom teacher and SEND coordinator to implement the child's EHCP.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Monitor and record the child's progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
Support the child's social and emotional development through positive interactions and activities.
Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive approach to the child's education.
Qualifications and Experience:
Previous experience working with children on EHCPs is essential.
Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support are preferred.
Strong understanding of the Year 3 curriculum and strategies to support learning at this level.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's development.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
