Due to our client's expanding global presence, we are currently seeking an experienced Multimodal Business Developer to join our client's UK Sales Team. This role is based in Yorkshire.
Role OverviewAs our client's Multimodal Business Developer, you will play a key role in driving new business growth. Your primary responsibilities will involve generating leads through cold calling and face-to-face visits, negotiating with Air, Road, and Sea Freight suppliers to secure competitive rates, and preparing accurate quotations. You will follow up on trial bookings, nurture relationships with new and existing clients, support colleagues in all facets of sales development, and provide comprehensive sales reporting to senior management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business by actively cold calling and visiting prospective clients face-to-face.
- Negotiate with Air, Road, and Sea Freight suppliers to obtain the most competitive rates, enabling precise quotation preparation.
- Follow up on leads and secure trial bookings to demonstrate our service offerings.
- Develop and nurture strong relationships with both new and existing clients.
- Support colleagues in all areas of sales development by sharing insights and best practices.
- Record, report, and present sales data to senior management to inform strategic decisions.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a sales or business development role, preferably within the logistics or freight forwarding industry.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence and close deals.
- Experience in proactive client engagement through cold calling and face-to-face interactions.
- A solid understanding of freight operations, including Air, Road, and Sea Freight.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
- Must have the right to work in the UK.
Remuneration & Benefits
- Salary: OTE £55,000
