About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee and lead a new-build education project in North Yorkshire. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a reputable construction firm, contributing to the delivery of a high-quality educational facility that will positively impact the local community.

As Site Manager, you will be responsible for all on-site activities, ensuring that the project is completed safely, on time, and within budget. This is a hands-on role for a candidate with experience in managing large-scale construction projects, specifically within the education sector. You'll work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and client representatives to ensure a smooth and effective construction process from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily on-site operations, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and health & safety standards.
  • Manage and coordinate all site staff, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring quality standards are met at every stage of the build.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and proactively implement solutions to mitigate delays or risks.
  • Conduct regular site meetings with the project team, contractors, and stakeholders to communicate expectations and project goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations and company policies, particularly in relation to health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
  • Prepare and maintain site records, including daily logs, reports, and timesheets.
  • Work collaboratively with architects, engineers, and design teams to resolve any design or technical issues.
  • Manage and control site costs in line with the project budget.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Site Manager on new-build projects, ideally within the education sector.
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
  • Relevant construction qualifications, such as NVQ Level 6/7 in Construction Management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction regulations, health & safety standards, and quality control measures.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage on-site teams effectively.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid CSCS card.
