Junior Controls Engineer to work in Smart Agriculture and Vertical Farming
The Role
This innovative team create automated climate control systems for commercial glasshouses and they are looking for a Junior Controls Engineer. It's 70% site-based, 30% office/home-based with dedicated mentoring. You'll be working around the UK and can be based in Yorkshire, the Midlands or North-East.
What You'll Do:
- Learn specialised horticulture control systems
- Develop custom programs for greenhouse environments
- Commission control systems on-site and in their East Yorkshire based workshop
- Integrate with electrical, mechanical, and irrigation systems
- Provide technical support and conduct testing
What You'll Need:
- An interest in control systems
- NVQ, HNC/HND or degree in electrical or control systems
- Knowledge and understanding of HVAC systems
- Full UK driving license (essential)
Their Projects are all related to large commercial glasshouses which are used for everything from vegetable production to medicinal plants. Their clients range from commercial growers to universities and research bodies; no two are the same and they all value the systems you bring.
