Are you a passionate and creative Textiles Teacher looking for an exciting opportunity from September 2025? A thriving and highly reputable secondary school in the Selby area is seeking a dedicated teacher to join their Design & Technology department on a full-time, one-year maternity cover contract. This is a full-time position, with part time candidates also being considered.

About the Role:

  • Teaching Textiles across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging and inspiring lessons.
  • Supporting students in developing practical skills, creativity, and a strong understanding of textile design and technology.
  • Planning and delivering a broad and balanced curriculum in line with national standards.
  • Encouraging students to explore innovative ideas and experiment with materials and techniques.
  • Assessing, monitoring, and providing constructive feedback to help students achieve their full potential.
  • Contributing to the wider Design & Technology department and school community.

About You as the successful Textiles Teacher:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) with experience teaching Textiles at secondary level.
  • A strong subject knowledge and passion for creative design and practical skills.
  • Enthusiastic, innovative, and able to engage and motivate students of all abilities.
  • A team player with excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Committed to delivering high-quality teaching and ensuring positive student outcomes.
