Senior Heritage Structural Engineer, Sevenoaks - £45,000 - £65,000 DOE

We are seeking a skilled Senior Heritage Structural Engineer to join our client’s dynamic team and lead projects that protect and celebrate our cultural legacy.

As a Senior Heritage Structural Engineer, you will be at the forefront of restoring, conserving, and reimagining heritage structures. You will collaborate closely with architects, historians, and conservation specialists to deliver engineering solutions that blend historical integrity with modern functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the structural assessment and design for historic buildings, ensuring compliance with preservation standards and regulations• Oversee a small team of senior engineers, managing restoration projects from initial concept through to successful completion• Apply advanced engineering techniques to stabilise and strengthen aging structures while preserving their architectural authenticity.• Collaborate with clients, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to deliver projects that respect and enhance architectural heritage• Implement sustainable solutions to modernise and improve the functionality of historic spaces in a responsible manner.

What We’re Looking For:

• A Chartered Engineer with significant experience in conservation work. CARE registered or actively working toward accreditation.• Proven expertise in the analysis and restoration of historic and listed buildings.• Strong understanding of traditional construction methods and materials.• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a creative approach to overcoming challenges.• Excellent communication skills, including writing, speaking, and sketching, to effectively convey ideas and solutions.• Full driving licence and your car for site visits and inspections
