Lead Radiographer | Sevenoaks Medical Centre, Sevenoaks

Full Time Permanent | 37.5 hours per week

Shifts: Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.00am and 8.00pm

Are you an empathetic radiographer who is patient orientated with a focus on continuous service improvement? 

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Lead Radiographer, to lead the Imaging and Diagnostics team based at the Sevenoaks Medical Centre.

As a Lead Radiographer you will perform a range of duties including general radiography, CT and MRI scanning insuring a seamless service and patient experience between the Sevenoaks clinic and KIMS Hospital.

KIMS Hospital is the largest independent hospital in Kent and we are recruiting at out Sevenoaks Medical Centre.  The Centre team consists of Nurses, Care Support Workers, Radiographers, Physical Therapists and administrators to provide outpatient and diagnostic services to the local community across to a full range of clinical specialties, including orthopaedics, dermatology, urology, gynaecology, gastroenterology and more.

Role Responsibilities include:

  • Carry out high quality diagnostic imaging examinations in a way which meets patients' needs across all modalities in the department
  • Take full responsibility for the management and supervision of the department, ensuring the safe and efficient provision of a range of imaging procedures to acceptable quality standards, delivered in a way which meets patients’ needs.
  • To ensure that all clinical and other information records are fully and accurately completed including the radiology computer system.
  • Be responsible for maintaining IR(ME)R compliance, interpreting protocols and assessing the justification of radiographic requests
  • Supervision and teaching of senior and junior radiographic staff and students in the development of skills in intricate or complicated imaging procedures and situations
  • To ensure that the service and staff develop and maintain the highest possible standards of clinical care

Person Specification:

Essential

  • Diploma of the College of Radiographers or BSc (Hons) Radiography (Diagnostic) with a minimum of 3 years’ experience
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council
  • Be fully competent in X-ray and MR/CT
  • Knowledge of clinical and corporate governance and its application
  • Evidence of continuous professional development and its application

Desirable

  • Experience in Management 
  • Post graduate qualification in CT/Medical Imaging 
  • Experience in Interventional CT including CT cardiac and CT Colonoscopy
