Twenty4Seven Education is seeking several passionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistants to work within an aspiring ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted-rated SEND School. This terrific school caters for pupils aged 3-19 with Severe and Complex needs, Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). They are keen to support the holistic development of children through child-led learning. They facilitate this through outstanding provisions such as a Forest School, Dog Mentor Programme, Interactive room and Aqua Learn Pool.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection and safeguarding
- Provide 1:1 and/or small group support to reinforce learning expectations
- Offer personalised assistance to students with Severe and Complex needs, PMLD and ASD
- Help implement and monitor any Individual Educational Plans (IEPs)
- Help provide a clean, orderly, engaging and safe environment
- Support students in managing their behaviour following the school behaviour policy
- Maintain clear and professional communication with other colleagues, professionals and parents/carers regarding student progress, well-being and any arising issues
- Assist in preparing teaching materials
- Keep accurate records of student activities, progress and behaviour
- Attend to pupil’s personal care and medical needs
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent
- Experience working with children with SEND within an educational setting or similar (minimum of 3 months of experience)
- Child and Adult DBS check on the Update Service or willing to pay and apply for a new one (Twenty4Seven Education can assist you with this process)
- You can demonstrate a patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to working with children
- You have excellent communication and teamwork skills
- You are committed to creating a supportive learning environment
