Here at Term Time Teachers, we are working alongside a trusted primary school based in Sevenoaks looking to recruit a Year 1 Teaching Assistant. This full-time role is due to start January 2025.
As a Year 1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting children's learning and development. You will help foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that builds confidence and helps students enhance their academic skills.
The school itself is dedicated to making learning exciting while supporting and developing young, curious minds. They have achieved 'Excellent' in all areas in their most recent ISI inspection.
Your key responsibilities as an Year 1 Teaching Assistant:
- Assist the Teacher in planning and supporting children's learning in line with the KS1 curriculum.
- Observe children's progression and development, recording key observations and providing feedback to the teacher.
- Work with small groups or individual children to support specific learning needs.
- Be able to remain calm and composed if presented with challenging behaviour.
- Encourage participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities.
- Work in accordance with the legal requirements and policies of the school.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of pupils.
Requirements:
- Minimum level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Knowledge of the KS1 curriculum.
- Have previous experience working with children.
- An enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or be happy to apply.
- Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
- Be able to provide two references within the last 2 years.
