Overview: Our client, a well-established company with over 25 years of experience in the Civil Engineering sector, is seeking a skilled Mobile Plant Fitter to join their dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to work with a variety of mechanical systems and components, ensuring all fittings and installations meet the required specifications and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, fit, and install mechanical components according to engineering guidelines.
  • Conduct quality checks on completed assemblies to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to fittings or installations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with other team members to improve processes and efficiency.
  • Keep accurate records of work completed and materials used.
  • Report any issues to the plant manager.
  • Diagnose issues with plant machinery and order necessary parts for repairs.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Fitter or in a similar role within the engineering or manufacturing sector.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations within an industrial environment is advantageous.
  • IT literacy for reporting jobs on a tablet.
  • Experience working on machinery such as petrol cut-off saws, trench rammers, petrol water pumps, compactor plates, floor saws, small generators, chain saws, brush cutters, and petrol blowers.
  • Opportunity to work on larger plant machinery, including pedestrian rollers, excavators up to 8 tonnes, dumpers, and pavers.
