Engineering Manager

Location: Sevenoaks

Are you a skilled leader with a passion for driving engineering excellence and operational success? We're seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the maintenance, development, and optimisation of systems, facilities, and machinery at our Sevenoaks site. This role ensures the smooth running of manufacturing operations while upholding the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement maintenance and engineering strategies to improve reliability and operational performance.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a skilled engineering and maintenance team.
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Manage preventive and routine maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and maximise productivity.
  • Oversee budgets and resource allocation, contributing to long-term planning for equipment and facilities.
  • Provide technical expertise, troubleshooting, and proactive problem-solving for engineering challenges.
  • Collaborate across departments to align engineering activities with production and business goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors and suppliers to secure efficient, cost-effective solutions.
  • Drive sustainability projects, including energy reduction and environmental improvements.
  • Conduct risk assessments, implement safe systems of work, and engage with the permit-to-work system.

What We're Looking For:

  • Engineering or maintenance qualifications (e.g., HNC, NVQ Level 3).
  • Leadership experience in a fast-paced, continuous process environment.
  • Strong understanding of Lean principles, CMMS software, and health & safety standards.
  • Hands-on problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • A proactive, adaptable approach with excellent communication and team-building abilities.
