We are working with a specialist SEMH School based in Sevenoaks who are looking for a Special Needs Tutor to join their team. This position includes providing 1:1 support for a single student with SEMH needs. Your role as a Special Needs Tutor will be outside the classroom within the school 5 days a week on a long-term basis.

Key Responsibilities as a Special Needs Tutor:

  • Offer personalised, 1:1 support to a student with SEMH needs.
  • Develop and implement tailored strategies that support the student's emotional, social, and academic growth.
  • Create a safe, calm environment that helps the student manage challenging behaviours and emotions.
  • Monitor and track progress, documenting the student's achievements, challenges, and milestones to inform ongoing support

Requirements as a Special Needs Tutor:

  • Strong Maths and English skills.
  • Experience working with children or young adults with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Patience, empathy and an adaptable approach to support the student's needs.
  • A teaching qualification or relevant SEN training is desirable, but not essential.
