About the role of Quantity Surveyor
This role of Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing the commercial aspects of each development. This includes managing the costs for each site and ensuring that targets are met by managing and controlling the budgets and valuations.
The responsibilities of a Quantity Surveyor
- Produce draft budgets and site start budgets
- Produce quarterly valuations
- Complete on-site measurements and assess payments to contractors
- Manage specific aspects of the project's commercial activities like managing contracts with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensure accurate cost control and financial reporting by monitoring project costs and preparing financial reports and identifying potential cost overruns
Requirements for Quantity Surveyor
- Qualified to HND level or higher with a valid CSCS card
- Experience of working as a Quantity Surveyor or surveyor with a residential house builder
- Ability to work on your own as well as a part of a team
- Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail, able to gather, interpret and present data to facilitate preparation of budgets and subsequent valuations
- Methodical, conscientious and organised, works to deliver high standards
