Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the production of cost plans for New Build Residential and Mixed-Use projects across all RIBA stages, from Stage 0 (Strategic Definition) to Stage 5 (Construction). The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of cost management, with a proven ability to deliver accurate and detailed cost plans throughout the project lifecycle.
Role Requirements:
- Production of cost plans for New Build Residential and Mix Used
- Projects from RIBA Stage 0 to RIBA Stage 5
- Client liaison and attending design team meetings
- Client-side Valuations, certification and evaluation of changes
- Reviewing and analysing Main Contractors Tender submissions
- Cost exercises for clients including Value Engineering
- Maintaining cost database
- Focus on residential projects and fire remediation work
Key Skills Required:
- Experience of high-rise cladding and replacement and contractor negotiations
- Preparation of Cost/Benefit analysis of design options
- Ensuring all costs are tracked & validated/ open book evaluation
- Supporting clients by producing accurate and competitive cost estimates
- Cost comparison and main contractor selection
- Cost control and preparation of periodic financial reconciliations, reports and forecasts
- Respond to commercial and contractual disputes and claims including loss and expense, final account, changes and cost value reconciliation review
- Understanding of JCT Design & Build Contracts
- Negotiation with Contractors
- Review of pricing documents against programme and cashflow
