Cerberus UK are working with a Key client who specialise in construction within the Residential sector, Commercial Sector.
Due to winning a new of projects across London and the Home counties they are now looking for a Technical Manager to join they winning Team.
Technical Manager
As a Technical Manager, you will be responsible for managing the design and coordination process from pre-construction to detailed design stage on various types and sizes of project. The Technical Manager will work with all consultants to ensure continuity and clarity across the different trades. You will need to deliver effective, efficient, and cohesive communication for the Design Team to achieve project objectives in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
- Review Tender Documentation and highlight areas of concern / risk.
- Reviewing and commenting on the design for completeness, buildability, potential quality issues, potential lead time problems, scope packaging and other similar issues in conjunction with the project team.
- Assist with project close out procedures including design team sign-off.
- Arrange and Chair Design Meetings with consultants and the development team.
- Attend and assist in briefing the Construction Project Team with any potential issues and updates.
- Instruct Consultants to undertake strategic designs and critique of outline plans.
- Brief and engage Specialist Consultants / Suppliers / Sub-Contractors to undertake specialist reports, then review, critique and manage risks to resolution.
- Compile all the information and complete the Tender Design Checklist prior to handover to the Estimator for pricing.
- Review quotations from Specialist Sub-Contractors where design elements are included and highlight any missing / erroneous items.
- Identify and categorise Risks, create a Project Risk Register and assist with the resolution of these risks.
- Review design drawings in accordance with Current Regulations and identify discrepancies.
- Review design proposals from Consultants and Sub-Contractors ensuring that the most competitive and effective solutions are arrived at, whilst according with the ERs.
- Developing a detailed design programme with all relevant parties to satisfy design, procurement, and construction requirements.
- Chairing co-ordination meetings with sub-contractors during design development.
- Assisting the Site Team with all design issues as and when required and ensuring swift closure to maintain site progress.
- Managing the RFI and NCR process.
