SEN Teaching Assistant- Sevenoaks, Kent

The School:

This historical school is based on the outskirts of Sevenoaks and provides education and therapy for children in Year 5-13 who have a range of Social, Emotional, and Mental Health challenges. Many of the pupils who attend the school have a designated Education Heath Care Plan (EHCP), which details their specific needs in terms of care and support they will have access to. Children have diagnosis including Anxiety, Autism, Depression and Trauma and the school provides a unique and specialist environment that meets the needs and challenges that the students face. The school offers a highly specialised curriculum, which aims to help all students reach their full potential.

Information on the SEN Teaching Assistant role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant at this school, you will be required to work alongside the Teacher and other professionals to support the children throughout the day. You will provide in-class support on a group and 1:1 basis, aiding the Teacher by modifying any teaching material to make it accessible to children in the classroom.

Your positive attitude towards every student and every day will be paramount, as will your flexibility to adapt to the variety of situations that may occur throughout the day. Clear communication and consistency will be vital to this role.
