GSL Education are thrilled to present an exciting opportunity for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a dynamic and inclusive school in Sevenoaks. This role is ideal for individuals who are motivated to provide personalised support and help students achieve their full potential in an inclusive and supportive environment.

About the role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will provide tailored support to boost student learning and engagement in various classroom settings. Working closely with teaching staff, specialists and families, you will enable students to overcome barriers to learning and succeed in their education.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students with Autism (ASC), Speech and Language difficulties, and ADHD.
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group interventions tailored to individual needs.
  • Assist teachers with lesson adaptation to support differentiated learning.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional resilience.
  • Work closely with parents, teachers, and SEN professionals.
  • Help students develop confidence, social skills, and academic abilities.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with SEN students or relevant training in special education is preferred.
  • A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of various SEN conditions (e.g., autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
  • A genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
