 About the Role:

As a Transport Trunking Operative, you’ll play a key role in keeping our depot running smoothly. Working closely with drivers as they return to the distribution center, you’ll ensure that all units and trailers are in top condition.

You’ll assist drivers in reporting any defects or issues, collaborating with the Vehicle Maintenance Unit (VMU) to ensure timely repairs and minimal disruption.

Your dedication and attention to detail will ensure a seamless operation, supporting our drivers and maintaining the high standards our customers expect.

  • Salary: £24,111.36 per annum
  • Hours: 4 on 4 off, 6:00am-6:00pm (40.25 hours per week)

Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing as our Transport Operative:

  • De-brief all returning vehicles to the depot
  • Checking for any damages and safety issues
  • Communicating with Drivers regarding the daily runs and dealing with any issues
  • Assist the driver with reporting any defects
  • Managing VOR’s getting units & trailers to service provider
  • Downloading tachograph information and uploading.
  • Liaise with our vehicle maintenance unit

A Few Things About You:

  • An understanding of transport legislation and logistics operation
  • Able to build good relationships with people even when under pressure
  • Challenge any vehicle issues or damages with our Drivers
  • React quickly to information and be able to solve problems independently
  • Good communication skills both verbally and written
  • Competent use of Microsoft, particularly Excel
