Academics Rochester are in need of experienced TA's / HLTA's to work within schools across Sittingbourne and Sheppey.

There has been a high demand for HLTA's, to support schools with PPA cover across KS1 and 2, as well as working with small groups of pupils.

On occasions, there may also be a request to teach the whole class.

With good working relationships with colleagues, pupils and parents

This role involves working with teachers to support teaching and learning as a whole by working with individuals or small groups of pupils under the direction of teaching staff and, for short periods of time, to be responsible for the whole class in the absence of the teacher.The successful candidate will need to demonstrate delivering high-quality support to children and young people, accelerating the progress of groups of children and young people and developing high quality resources.

Qualifications and experience:

  • GCSE Maths and English Grade 4 or equivalent
  • Evidence of additional qualifications suitable to TA role NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant
  • HLTA qualification or equivalent
  • Experience of working and supporting primary age children
  • Experience of carrying out intervention programmes
  • Knowledge of National Curriculum
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and an active listener
  • Highly motivated and the ability to motivate children
  • Assist children on an individual basis, in small group and whole class work
  • Good ICT skills
